Terms of Service

1. General information

HelpFound provides an online emotional support and guided self-help platform. The content and AI companion Catherine are provided for general informational and self-help purposes only. Nothing on HelpFound should be considered professional, medical, psychiatric, legal or therapeutic advice.

2. Not a medical or therapy service

HelpFound and Catherine do not provide therapy, diagnosis, medical advice or crisis support. Catherine is an AI companion designed to offer calm emotional support and evidence-informed self-help tools. She is not a human, therapist, counsellor, doctor or mental health professional. Use of HelpFound does not create a therapeutic or clinical relationship of any kind.

3. Crisis and emergency situations

If you are in immediate danger, please call 999. For urgent mental health support, contact NHS 111 or Samaritans on 116 123. HelpFound is not an emergency service and Catherine is not equipped to handle crisis situations. If Catherine identifies signs of immediate risk, she will direct you to appropriate emergency resources.

4. Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to use HelpFound. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this requirement. HelpFound is not designed for use by minors and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

5. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account with others or use another person's account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately at support@helpfound.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use HelpFound to:

• Attempt to harm, harass or abuse others.
• Share content that is illegal, offensive or harmful.
• Attempt to circumvent or misuse Catherine's safety guidelines.
• Impersonate any person or organisation.
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse engineer or interfere with the platform.

7. Subscription and billing

HelpFound offers a free Basic plan and a paid Premium plan at £20 per month. Premium subscriptions are billed monthly and renew automatically. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months. Payment is processed securely by Stripe.

8. Fair-use policy

Premium plan conversations with Catherine are unlimited under fair use. To protect service quality for all members and prevent abuse, we apply a generous monthly fair-use threshold currently set at 5,000 conversations per calendar month, which exceeds the needs of all normal personal use. If you reach this threshold in any month, we will notify you and you can contact support@helpfound.com to discuss your needs. We may adjust the fair-use threshold from time to time and will give reasonable notice if we do.

9. Accuracy of information

We aim to ensure that the content and guidance provided through Catherine is accurate and evidence-informed. However, we make no guarantees about the completeness, reliability or accuracy of responses. Use of Catherine is at your own discretion.

10. External links

HelpFound may include links to external websites for additional resources. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or practices of any third-party sites.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HelpFound and its team are not liable for any losses, damages or harm resulting from your use of the platform, Catherine's responses, or any linked resources. HelpFound is provided on an 'as is' basis without warranties of any kind.

12. Intellectual property

All content, design and technology on HelpFound is owned by or licensed to HelpFound. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from any part of our platform without our express written permission.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by a notice on the platform. Continued use of HelpFound after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
