Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
By accessing or using HelpFound and Nia, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. For questions, email support@helpfound.com. For privacy queries, email privacy@helpfound.com.
1. What HelpFound is
HelpFound is an online emotional support and guided self-help service for new and expecting parents. Its AI companion, Nia, is provided for general informational and self-help purposes only. Nothing on HelpFound is medical, psychiatric, clinical, legal, or therapeutic advice.
2. What Nia is, and what she is not
Nia is an AI conversational interface powered by large language model technology, currently provided by Anthropic. Her responses are generated in real time by software. She is not a human, therapist, counsellor, doctor, or mental health professional. Use of HelpFound does not create a therapeutic, clinical, or professional relationship of any kind. Like all AI systems, Nia can occasionally produce responses that are inaccurate, incomplete, or otherwise unexpected. You should not rely on Nia for medical, mental health, legal, or financial decisions. If something she says doesn't look right, please contact us and seek qualified professional advice for any matter where it would normally be appropriate.
3. Crisis and emergency situations
HelpFound is not an emergency service. Nia is not equipped to handle crisis situations. If you are in immediate danger or thinking of harming yourself, please contact emergency services straight away. In the UK that is 999. For urgent mental health support, call NHS 111 (option 2 in many areas), call Samaritans free on 116 123, or text SHOUT to 85258. If Nia identifies signs of immediate risk, she will signpost you to these resources.
4. Eligibility
You must be 18 years of age or older to use HelpFound. By creating an account you confirm you meet this requirement. We do not knowingly allow use by anyone under 18.
5. Your account
An account is required to use HelpFound. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity that takes place under your account. Do not share your account or use anyone else's. Tell us at support@helpfound.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use HelpFound to:
- Attempt to harm, harass, or abuse another person.
- Share content that is illegal, offensive, or hateful.
- Attempt to circumvent or manipulate Nia's safety guidelines.
- Impersonate any person or organisation.
- Submit content with the purpose of training or evaluating another AI system without our written consent.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the platform.
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
7. Subscriptions and billing
HelpFound offers a 7-day free trial and a Premium plan at £9.99 per month or £79.99 per year. Premium renews automatically until cancelled.
8. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel your Premium subscription at any time, from your account settings or by emailing support@helpfound.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep Premium access until then. Cancelling stops future payments; on its own it does not refund the period you are already in, except as set out below.
If you change your mind (14-day guarantee). If Premium is not right for you, email support@helpfound.com within 14 days of a payment and we will refund it, whether or not you have used Nia. For a monthly plan that is the full month. For an annual plan we refund the unused part of your year, calculated pro-rata from the day you ask, so you only pay for the time you had. This is in addition to your rights under UK consumer law.
If the problem is ours. If we end your subscription without good reason, or Premium is materially unavailable or not as described, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid period in full, pro-rata, regardless of the 14 days.
If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, refunds for those purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies and you may need to request a refund through them; we will help where we can. Your statutory rights as a UK consumer always remain and are not reduced by anything in this section.
9. Fair use
Premium use of Nia is unlimited under fair use. To protect service quality and prevent abuse, we apply a fair-use threshold set well above normal personal use. If you approach this threshold, we will contact you to understand your needs. We may adjust the threshold from time to time and will give 30 days' notice to current Premium users before any reduction takes effect.
10. Accuracy of information
We work hard to ensure Nia's responses are calm, helpful, and evidence-informed, drawing on a curated set of UK mental health resources. We do not guarantee that any specific response is accurate, complete, or current. Use of Nia is at your own discretion. For anything that needs a qualified professional, please consult one.
11. External links and resources
HelpFound may link to external websites and services. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third parties.
12. Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under English law. Subject to that, HelpFound is provided as a self-help and emotional support service, not a clinical service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any losses, harm, or consequences that arise from your reliance on Nia's responses, from inaccurate or unexpected outputs, from interruptions to the service, or from your use of any third-party resources we link to. Where we are liable to you, our liability is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100. Our consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 remain unaffected.
13. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time from settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if your use of the service puts others at risk, or if we are required by law. Where reasonable, we will tell you why. On termination, your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. If we end your subscription without cause, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid period.
14. Intellectual property
The HelpFound platform, Nia's persona, and all related content, design, and technology are owned by or licensed to HelpFound. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without our written permission. Your conversations remain your own; we use them only as described in the Privacy Policy.
15. Mobile apps
If you use HelpFound through the iOS or Android app, the relevant app store's terms also apply to your download, subscription, and refunds. We may require you to install updates to keep using the app; older versions may stop working when we make material changes.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes that affect your rights or your subscription, we will give you reasonable notice by email. Continued use of HelpFound after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. UK consumers retain the protections of any mandatory consumer law that applies where they live.
